The Cubs swept a doubleheader in Hotlanta today for the first time ever. They swept a doubleheader for the first time since 2003. In fact, our favorite baseball club has had a fairly exciting week, and we’ve neglected to properly bestow kudos on our heroes. Today, for example, it was our man Geo – double and homer to start and the Cubs never trailed, in either game.

The Ryan Dempster Experience continues to pitch well, even conquering a shocking in-game congratulatory interview from Peter Gammons that must have caught the karma gods napping. The Cubs still took the series against the Cards.

Of course, the Cubs survived Chicago-killer Braden Looper on Friday, outlasting the demon birds with a walk-off hit off the bat of one of everyone’s favorites.

Still, one man has been in the midst of all our rallies, spite, vigor, and offense throughout the last week. And I certainly never thought I’d see this day, but as long as he’s pounding them out (Ew. Extremely poor choice of phrase), I’ll happily eat my words. Surreal, right? Who cares, right?

Go Cubs.
